My two best pieces of advice I've held on to are: 1) Your success is no longer dependent on just how smart you are, but how hard you are willing to work. 2) Medical school is not a series of sprints; it's a marathon There is give-and-take with everything you give time and energy to. It is so important to have your passion, perspective, and interests fueling you through it; otherwise you will get burned out really quick. Like anything you do, it is all about rising to the occasion, and being willing to do whatever it takes!
