Why did you decide to pursue your M.D.?

Service and learning have been two of my biggest passions throughout my life, and the study of medicine seemed to be a natural marriage of those interests. I entered Wofford College as a biology major on the pre-medical track, and the classes I had there validated my interest in medicine. My experiences there in anatomy and physiology combined with shadowing experiences and summer jobs in the medical field proved to me that I was on the right track. Medicine has always been something that I thought I had a passion for, but actually experiencing being in the operating room and working with patients on a daily basis made me excited for a possibility of a career in this field.

Why did you choose to attend the GRU/UGA Medical Partnership?

Coming from a small liberal arts college, I was attracted to the the smaller class size and emphasis on group work at the Medical Partnership. I was also excited about the organization of the schedule here. We have quizzes and tests every Friday, but that means our weekends can be relatively free. The city of Athens was also a major draw for me because of the college town atmosphere and the great music, food, sports, and culture here.
