Anderson Joins Medical Partnership as Director of Finance & Administration

Luke Anderson, MBA, MHA, has joined the Augusta University/University of Georgia Medical Partnership as the Director of Finance & Administration. Anderson began his new role on October 1, 2022 and will also serve on the Medical Partnership’s Senior Leadership Team.

Anderson is coming to the Medical Partnership after over 25 years at Emory University. In his most recent position, he served as department administrator with Emory University Family and Preventive Medicine Department for seven years. He has worked with residents and medical students throughout his time at Emory and has had administrative and financial oversight of other Emory departments such as Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, and the Emory Clinic.

Anderson brings in experience with IT, financial and clinical systems, managing multi-million dollar research portfolios, recruitment of faculty and staff, and has an extensive knowledge in quality assurance, audits, and compliance.

Anderson attended Georgia Tech for his Bachelor of Science in applied biology and received a Bachelor of Science in applied psychology from Georgia State University. He then went on to obtain a master’s in business administration and a master’s in health administration from Georgia State University.

Dean Shelley Nuss said she is excited for the wealth of experience and skills that Anderson will bring to the role and the Medical Partnership.

“Luke is known for his exceptional business acumen, mentorship, his practical approach to problem solving, his communication skills, and his dedication and loyalty,” said Nuss. “We are excited he’ll be joining our team in Athens.”
