Roundtable Discussion on Medical Marijuana

The AU/UGA Medical Partnership will be hosting a presentation and discussion on Tuesday, February 2 on the UGA Health Sciences Campus.  Funded by a generous donor, the Medical Partnership works with the UGA Honors Program to host four roundtable discussions each academic year on healthcare topics of interest.

The February roundtable discussion will focus on the topic of Medical Marijuana and will be led by Dr. Phillip Holmes, PhD and Dr. Brannon Morris, MD.

Dr. Holmes is the Chair of the Neuroscience Program at the University of Georgia and is a Professor in the Psychology Department.  His area of expertise is behavioral neuropharmacology.  You can learn more about Dr. Holmes’ research here.

Dr. Morris graduated from the Medical College of Georgia and completed a general Pediatric Residency in Chattanooga, TN.  He then completed an additional residency in Child Neurology at the Mayo Clinic, followed by a one-year fellowship in pediatric neuro-oncology at St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital.  He works at Athens Neurological Associates as the only pediatric neurologist in the Athens area.

Space is limited for this special event and students must RSVP to Andrea Horsman at mpstuaf@uga.edu.
