Tschepikow Named Assistant Program Director of Internal Medicine Residency Program

Marla Tschepikow, MD, has been named the new Assistant Program Director of the Augusta University/University of Georgia Medical Partnership Internal Medicine Residency Program

Tschepikow has been with the program for three years where she recently held the position of Medical Director.

“Marla is a passionate medical educator and is excited to take on this new role,” said Campus Dean Shelley Nuss.

Tschepikow graduated from West Virginia University in 2004 and completed her residency at WVU-Charleston Area Medical Center in Charleston, WV where she also served as chief resident. After completing her residency, she worked as a hospitalist and in resource utilization.

In September 2018, she joined the faculty of the AU/UGA Medical Partnership Internal Medicine Residency Program overseeing patient care at Community Internal Medicine of Athens (CIMA). In January 2019, Dr. Tschepikow became medical director at CIMA and was instrumental in starting a comprehensive Diabetes Clinic at CIMA in the past year.

“Taking this position feels like a great next step in my career,” said Tschepikow. “I love working with the residents and I’m very excited to start this new journey!”

Tschepikow will begin her new role on April 1.
