Any gap years? If so, what did you do?
I took 1 gap year after graduating from Georgia Tech. During that time, I earned more clinical experience hours, working as an urgent care medical assistant and serving as a senior volunteer for two free clinics. I love teaching so I continued to work as a part-time virtual tutor, providing academic support in any school subject to low-income K-12 students in the Pittsburgh area.
It was also a great opportunity to travel! I traveled to Spain, India, and the United Kingdom to spend time with my extended family.

Hello!
My name is Mahima Sangtani. I am originally from Chicago, Illinois, moving to Georgia after middle school. My Georgia home is Alpharetta, GA. Became interested in medicine at a young age from all the positive experiences I had with my pediatrician as well as after my mother decided to pursue a career in healthcare informatics.
Some fun facts about me is I love traveling! Turns out I traveled to 3 different continents before I turned a year old 🙂 I also love weight lifting at the gym, playing basketball with my medical school classmates, and boxing during my study breaks.
I am really excited to be a student ambassador to share what I love about our campus and all the ways we gain early exposure in seeing patients in the Athens community.
