During my gap year, I worked as a medical scribe for an ophthalmologist! I also used this time to travel to the Bahamas, NYC, and Puerto Rico!

Bio: tell us about yourself
Hi my name is Sarah Miller, and I’m an M1 student here at the partnership! I can’t remember ever having an interest in a career outside of medicine. This has been solidified by my own personal experience as a patient with a rare autoimmune disease who struggled to get a diagnosis and see specialists who could treat me. I’ve had to advocate for myself at a patient-provider level as well as had the opportunity to advocate for other rheumatologic patients at a legislative level. Because of these experiences, patient advocacy is incredibly important to me. More than anything else, I want to empower my patients and make them feel seen and heard so we can work together to get them the care that they deserve.
