Aimee Martin, MD, CHSE has been teaching at the AU/UGA MP since 2015 and is the Campus Director of Simulation. In addition to teaching in simulation, she teaches in Small Group Learning for year 1, Clinical Skills for year 2, ultrasound and procedural skills for years 1-3, and assists in clinical assessments for years 1-4. She participates as a facilitator in year 2 IPE sessions, Y1 and 2 Ethics sessions, and in Resiliency and Professional Identity Formation Clerkship Process Groups for Emergency Medicine. She is an advisor for year 3 and 4 students, and additionally for any students interested in Emergency Medicine.

Dr. Martin grew up in western Massachusetts and completed her B.S. in Animal Physiology and Neuroscience at the University of California, San Diego in 1994, her MD at Tulane University School of Medicine in 2000, and an Emergency Medicine residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in 2003. Following residency she served 2 years active duty as a Captain in the Army Medical Corps at the General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital in Fort Leonard Wood, MO. and then as a staff ED physician at Athens Regional Medical Center in Athens, GA. She later served as a staff physician at the UGA University Health Center from 2008 until 2019. Her interests include simulation in medical education, ultrasound, and nutrition, particularly in type 1 diabetes. She is a Clinical Associate Professor of Medical Education in Emergency Medicine at the UGA School of Medicine, and is a retired Major, United States Army Medical Corps.
