Dr. Kelly is a pediatrician who teaches in the pre-clerkship and clerkship years in the areas of Small Group Learning, Large Groups/SPAs, Clinical Skills, Simulation, Ultrasound, Procedures, Community and Population Health (Clarke Middle Health Center), and Resilience and Professional Identity Formation. She is an official career advisor, and she also mentors students on an unofficial basis when the need arises. She serves on several committees related to curriculum and faculty searches.
Carrie grew up in Midway, GA which is about 30 miles down the coast from Savannah. She attended the University of Georgia for her undergraduate degree and the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta for her MD. She did her residency in Greenville, SC in Pediatrics and then moved back to Athens to continue her career. She practiced in Watkinsville, GA for 12 years, and begin to teach 3rd year medical students from the Medical Partnership about 6 years into her practice. This is when she developed her love of teaching which eventually led her to her current position.
