When you’re looking for your first job after residency, hire a contract lawyer to review your contract and do the negotiations for you; don’t underestimate your worth.

I highly recommend talking to multiple people in different phases of their career when deciding on a specialty. Can you envision yourself practicing this specialty for decades? If not, consider another path.
