Alpha Upsilon Phi was founded at the Medical College of Georgia in 2008 to promote and recognize service and leadership efforts by our students, faculty, and staff. We believe service and leadership are essential experiences in the development of well-rounded health care professionals.

Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society
Alpha Omega Alpha, commonly referred to as AΩA, can be thought of as the “Phi Beta Kappa for medical schools.” As the only national honor medical society, its mission, developed over the past one hundred years, has been to recognize and enhance professionalism, academic excellence, service, and leadership within the profession. Election to Alpha Omega Alpha is an honor signifying a lasting commitment to scholarship, leadership, professionalism, and service. A lifelong honor, membership in the society confers recognition for a physician’s dedication to the profession and art of healing.

American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA) Glasgow-Rubin Citation for Academic Achievement
AMWA awards the Glasgow-Rubin Citation for Academic Achievement to women who graduate in the top 10 percent of their medical school graduating class.
Dean’s Clinical Honor Society
The Medical College of Georgia established the Dean’s Clinical Honor Society in 2017 for the purpose of honoring outstanding medical students who consistently achieved high academic excellence throughout the core clinical clerkships of the 3rd year of medical school.
Gold Humanism Honor Society (GHHS)
Gold Humanism Honor Society (GHHS) honors medical students, residents, role-model physician teachers and other exemplars recognized for “demonstrated excellence in clinical care, leadership, compassion and dedication to service.” Organized to elevate the values of humanism and professionalism within the field of medicine, the Society is fast becoming integrated into the medical educational environment.
