Assistant Professor of Medicine

As a part-time faculty member at the AU/UGA Medical Partnership, Kyle Galbraith leads the Ethics and Professionalism Committee and serves on the Resiliency and Professional Identity (RPIF) Committee. He develops and delivers large group sessions on a wide array of ethical issues in medical practice, including informed consent, decision-making capacity, and research ethics. Dr. Galbraith also participates in multiple large and small group sessions on matters related to professionalism and professional identity formation. He also teaches graduate-level courses at the University of Georgia on the responsible conduct of research and rigor, reproducibility, and transparency in life sciences research. 

Dr. Galbraith serves as Senior Patient Safety Specialist for Piedmont Healthcare, where his work is focused on system-level initiatives to improve patient safety and quality of care. He also serves as an ethicist for Piedmont. He has served as an ethics specialist for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Department of Defense. Dr. Galbraith earned his Ph.D. at Vanderbilt University and trained as a clinical ethicist in the Center for Biomedical Ethics and Society at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.  

In his spare time, he enjoys traveling with his family, making stained glass art, and cheering on Everton Football Club. He is a (very) proud Kentuckian.
