Any gap years? If so, what did you do?
I took three gap years in between college and medical school. As soon as I graduated UGA in 2020, I began working at Wellstar as a program coordinator for the Ethics department. In my role as an Ethics program coordinator, I engaged in bioethics research, supported the Wellstar Clincal Ethics Fellowship Program, and I worked closely with the clinical ethics team to support them in their day to day work. Moreover, in my final gap year, I became a mom to a beautiful baby girl.

Hello! My name is Barquiesha Madison and I am currently a second year medical student at the AU/UGA Medical Partnership as well as a mom to a two-year old. In my free time, I love to visit local restaurants and ice cream shops (butter’dudder is currently my favorite ice cream shop). I enjoy dancing, boxing, kickboxing, and anything high intensity or energetic. I also enjoy taking my daughter for walks at parks or any trails around Athens.
