Bio: tell us about yourself
Hello! My name is Sarah Schultz and I am a current M1 at the AU/UGA Medical Partnership. I am from Gainesville, GA, and was a Piano major at UGA. I also minored in Biology and received an Informatics Certificate through the College of Engineering. I knew that I wanted to be a physician before starting college but wasn’t quite ready to give up piano. Although it was difficult balancing hours of practice and private professor instruction, attending classical concerts, music theory, music history, aural skills, and chamber music and other ensemble practices with the pre-medical curriculum, I feel that my piano education has prepared me well for medicine in developing a strong work ethic, curating my attention to detail, and being a good listener. During my time at UGA I worked 3 years in a laboratory that developed a robot to teach piano lessons to rural and isolated older adults at risk for developing dementia. I love living in Athens and love attending concerts at Georgia Theatre, trying out new restaurants, and going to UGA football games! In my free time, I love walking, running, doing pilates, playing piano, hiking, traveling, and trying new things.
