Community Internal Medicine of Athens

CIMA serves as the continuity clinic for our residents and allows them the opportunity to develop their ambulatory care skills while serving as the primary care providers for their personal panel of patients. Continuity clinic is structured to prioritize longitudinal relationships for continuous management of chronic disease. With graduated responsibility, residents perform all functions of a primary care physician for their patient panel. Our residents care for diverse patients, many of whom have complex medical and social needs, and others who are young and healthy and just need regular check-ups.

St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital

Good Samaritan Hospital is a 25-bed acute care critical access hospital serving the Greensboro and Greater Green County areas of East Georgia. At Good Samaritan Hospital, residents function as a rural hospitalist, providing care for the inpatient service on a daily basis. This inpatient rotation deepens the residents’ understanding of the resources available to inpatient physicians in rural settings, as well as the limitations of and access to care available to rural populations.
